2.SUMMARY:
A non-profile organization focused on supporting healthcare services to the community struggled with a large amount shadow IT. By bringing a structured, methodical approach, we were able to help inventory, rationalize and finally modernize and standardize their information technology footprint.
3.PAIN POINTS:
With a strong focus on delivering the services needed by the community, and limited resources with which to deliver them, internal information technology was not a priority. Over the years, team members used whatever tools they could to get their jobs done. However, over time this led to a diverse, disjointed collection of tools, subscriptions and documents with no oversight or governance.
3.HOW WE SUCEEDED:
Through a detailed and exhaustive review of the organization’s technology resources and documentation, interviews of users, and analysis of logs and expenses we were able to create a full picture of the current state of various software packages, tools and documents in use. From this, we identified opportunities for cost savings by eliminating duplicative tool subscriptions, consolidated documentation templates and storage locations to streamline and expedite processes and reduced data risks through the elimination of high risk/low security tools.
